The 12 Steps of Being a Shibaholic

  1. Get a Shiba Inu.
  2. Tell the dog how cute it is 147 times on the way home.
  3. Take 87 pictures in the first two hours you have it.
  4. Recognize that it's MUCH smarter than you are, and that you're both keenly aware of this fact.
  5. Admit that you're powerless over your Shiba Inu.
  6. Come to believe that there is a higher power, and that it's definitely a Shiba Inu.
  7. Make a decision to turn your will and your life over to your Shiba Inu. This is the day that your life changes, forever.
  8. Take a personal inventory, and make sure it includes lots of treats and toys (obviously, for the Shiba Inu).
  9. Humbly ask your Shiba Inu to train you to do everything that it wants of you.
  10. Make direct amends to your Shiba Inu for any wrongdoings (like serving any meal more than 5 minutes late).
  11. Make your Shiba Inu more comfortable than you make yourself.
  12. Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, get a second Shiba Inu and maybe a third Shiba Inu, and become a crazy Shiba Inu person and carry this message to all non-crazy Shiba Inu people.
